South Farms winter Wedding Welcome Boxes

This past winter we teamed up with Amy Champagne Events to design custom welcome gifts for Shannon & John’s Connecticut wedding at South Farms and we had to share the final product. When conceptualizing the luxury welcome boxes, we wanted to pull in the rustic accents from Amy’s design to create a winter wonderland meets New England vibe.  The color palette was a mix of navy, hunter green, winter white, and natural tones which was a welcomed break from the more traditional green and red Christmas combo we always see in December. We started with a kraft-colored box that was tied with a navy ribbon and custom gift tag from Roseville Designs.

Inside, we packed the box with hunter-green crinkle paper to keep things secure while adding a pop of color to the packaging.  Inside, we brought together a collection of our favorite specialty food companies with items that gave a nod to the holidays whether it was in their flavors or packaging.  When drawing up a design for a wedding welcome bag, we always love to include a few staples:

  1. Beverages to give guests a little something to sip on when they arrive to the hotel.  Everyone is always down for a water after spending the day traveling.  In this case, we went with Perrier cans, a perfect complement to the overall aesthetic.

  2. Essentials kit is such a nice gesture to include for your guests because it includes a few must-haves that everyone always seems to forget – breath mints, tide wipes, Advil, and a pair of bobby pins.  We bagged them up in muslin bags that we hand-stamped with an image of evergreen trees, in green, of course, which was a fabulous way to tie the design together.

  3. The weekend’s agenda to make sure guests are aware of the schedule of festivities including addresses of the ceremony and reception venues.

  4. Something sweet.

    1. Unna Bakery – an NYC-based company – supplied the tastiest box of cardamon crisp cookies which are biscotti-like cookies with a hint of mint.  Perfect for a cup of coffee.

    2. Poppy Popcorn – one of Asheville’s finest specialty food vendors – served up a holiday-themed favorite, Reindeer Crunch, which featured their signature caramel-coated popcorn drizzled with chocolate and topped with walnuts, cashews and pecans, served up in festive bags.

  5. Something salty.  In this case, we had two salty elements:

    1. Molly & Me Pecans – based out of Charleston – these are a personal favorite.  Not only do they taste divine and come in a range of different flavors (we went with Roasted & Salted for this occasion) but the packaging works well in almost any gift.

    2. Fatty Sunday – which got their start on Long Island, New York -  are, honestly, salty & sweet since they are slathered in chocolate and, in this case, bits of peppermint.  This gave us the perfect little taste of the holidays.
